Hertz Enters Car Sharing Market

The car rental giant Hertz has just announced that they will be entering the car sharing market later this year. Rich Broome, Senior Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Communications, didn’t reveal many details but did confirm that Hertz would start the program in only a handful of major U.S. cities (I’m assuming that includes Chicago). U-Haul and Enterprise have also been testing out the hourly car rental market. Only time will tell if these car rental giants will become true competitors with the various independent car sharing organizations within the U.S
