Work at I-GO: Fleet Assistant needed

I-GO Car Sharing is looking for a person to serve as a full-time Fleet Assistant focusing on our suburban locations. The Fleet Assistant must be comfortable driving, biking, and using public transit throughout the Chicagoland area to aid in servicing the I-GO fleet of more than 200 vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the scheduling and delivery of vehicles to auto shops for routine maintenance, oil changes, and service.

  • Arrange for jump-starts and tire repairs, shuttle and relocate vehicles, troubleshoot technical issues, and help out with members problems.

  • Maintain and suggest improvements to parking locations and signage in addition to stocking brochures and updating vehicle stickers and literature as needed.

  • Work to assist the Fleet Manager with vehicle disposal as well as facilitating the readiness and delivery of new vehicles to their assigned locations.

  • Respond to vehicle and member-related emergency situations.

  • Provide on-call assistance as needed.

  • Maintain precise documentation of activities and provide daily reports to the Fleet Manager.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to work without close supervision, maintain accurate records, and organize materials.

  • Manage and sustain detail-oriented schedules and tasks.

  • Demonstrate hands-on experience and knowledge of fleet maintenance within the automotive field.

  • Good working knowledge of the city of Chicago and its suburbs.

  • Flexibility and willingness to work odd hours as necessary.

  • Solid verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.

  • Preferably owns and operates a personal automobile for work purposes.


Hours of Duty:

  • Monday through Friday during daytime hours. Available as needed on weekends.


Compensation:

  • Full-time position with complete benefits, salary is dependent upon experience. The Fleet Assistant will report to the Fleet Manager.
